A two hour, fully-resourced PSHE lesson all about making responsible personal hygiene and health choices. This lesson covers vaccinations, blood and organ donation, stem cell research and personal hygiene. Students will investigate the importance of all of these factors for both preventing the spread of disease and treating illnesses in others. They will also exam the moral implications behind ideas such as stem cell research and learn a bit about the science behind these too (although this is not a science lesson, it is a PSHE lesson).
The lesson includes a 2 hour detailed PowerPoint, information sheets, differentiated challenge activities and worksheets, clips tasks with questions, literacy tasks and case study tasks. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow. It encourages students to consider a variety of philosophical arguments for and against God and to tackle them from different perspectives using new terminology. This was used in for GCSE RS Thematic Studies AQA (9-1) - but is adaptable for other exam boards or KS3.

A fully-resourced lesson which serves as an introduction to ‘honour’ based violence and ‘honour’ killings. Students will explore whether it is true that most honour killings are down to interpretation of religious texts, or whether culture or misogyny is mostly responsible. They will learn about where victims can go for help and the form ‘honour’ based violence can take.
This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020-24 spiral curriculum (especially for a forced marriage unit) or for a Citizenship / RE human rights unit. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning. If everything is completed, there is around 90 minutes of material here.
